Actually, there's something I want to ask you.

I keep getting that same question over and over again like almost everyone I run into.
(같은 질문을 계속 받거든. 마주치는 사람마다 거의 다.)
I know they're just making small talk.
Everyone seems so keen on finding out what I ate.
(다들 내가 뭘 먹었는지 알고 싶어 안달난 것 같아.)
be keen on ~ = ~be interested in
 
I guess you could think of it as small talk.
무엇이라고 볼 수 있다 / 생각할 수 있다.
 
But for us it's more or less how we greet each other.
무엇과 다르지 않은 / 무엇이나 마찬가지인
(근데 우리한테는 그냥 인사하는거나 다름이 없어.)
 
so when we ask that, it's effectively like saying, "How are you?"
결국은 무엇과도 같은
 
not always, but most of the time
항상 그런건 아니지만 거의 그렇지.
